Adventure at sea

The Vendée Globe 2024 will see Raphaël DINELLI face his 5th ‘Everest of the seas’, which will make him the co-record holder of participations in this Dantesque event: 24,000 miles to accomplish and three oceans to cross in extreme conditions. If he swapped his researcher’s gown and his aviator’s jacket for his navigator’s suit, the test would mobilize this triple skill : it will be at the helm of a 60-foot ‘zero emission’ race, a fully reconfigured IMOCA whose on-board energy will be fully supplied by liquid/solar hydrogen hybridization.

A single objective: the gain of experience for the adventure in the air
The eco-adventurous media will aim less to’ win’ the race than to experiment with this new technology of the future. The same one that he will then adapt for the traction of the electric aircraft ERAOLE II, at the controls, of which, he plans a transatlantic flight in 2027 and then his other round the world ‘zero emission’ non-stop in 2027 : a huge challenge in the perspective of which the Vendée Globe (preceded by other races upstream(1) will also provide him with an indispensable and demanding platform for psychological and physical training! The feat is at this price…
(1) 2022:’ The Arch’, Tour of Europe decarbonized by an ecological armada (race of tall ships of competition and sailing cargo on board which companies will phosphorus on 100 innovative projects for the energy transition).
2023: Transat Jacques Vabre, one of the qualifying races to finish in order to register for the Vendée Globe.
