2008 - 2021: beginning of an adventure between sea and sky

2008: A world first in the Vendée Globe

It was at the helm of Océan Vital, a solar and wind “sailing-laboratory”, that Raphaël DINELLI took part in his 4th Vendée Globe in 2008. He finished 10th in the event but victorious in his challenge: in 4 months of extreme navigation, the other competitors used up to 400 liters of fuel to produce their on-board electricity; Raphaël himself will have tested and exclusively used the renewable energies produced by his experimental equipment: 10 m2 of unprecedented solar panels and a vertical axis wind turbine. The first “clean” competition sailboat!

2016: ERAOLE I - The birth of an aircraft of the future

After the Vendée Globe, the Océan Vital Laboratory created by Raphaël DINELLI is producing other mobile demonstrators operating on renewable energy. October 20, 2016: 1st flight of its ERAOLE I aircraft, biplane aircraft with a multi-hybrid system, powered by 25% energy from 30 m2 of patented solar panels and 75% by a generator consuming recycled vegetable oils and boosted with hydrogen. Respect for the environment, studied design, validated performance: an aircraft of the future is being born! And turns out to be “well born”, attest to two consecutive challenges taken up by Raphaël:

2018: complete the Tour de France and be one of the sponsors of the Raid Latécoère-Aéropostale,
2019: fly more than 200 hours and set a record for endurance (10 hours) and altitude (10,000 feet).

2021: The Start-Up ERAOLE to get green aviation off the ground

From now on, Raphaël DINELLI is aiming higher with a technology transfer from the Laboratory to a start-up. Long-term objective: to market aircraft using the patented ERAOLE system! Enough to begin to concretely move the lines in small civil tourism and business aviation, flying club fleets, etc. And this while “hydrogen” hybridization is already announced, bringing other technological and ecological developments in the medium term…
